Driving safety training on 14.10.2023 PPC (Predictive Powertrain Control) demo drive with 2 truck training trucks and SGA with giggling trailer with 'training wheels' to demonstrate what happens to the trailer without ESP in the event of an evasive maneuver. The ride was demonstrated by a professional Mercedes instructor and our employees were of course also allowed to drive the special vehicle. In the slalom park under our parking deck, braking and evasion were practiced in their own vehicles and in the theory part, this time it was the turn of safety systems such as blind spot assist, emergency braking function, lane departure warning and other topics on driving safety. Kicherer is a recognised training and further education centre in accordance with the BKrFQG (Professional Driver Qualification Act). At least one training course takes place with us every year.

Our trucks with underride protection: rear-end collisions are always a very high risk. Especially when smaller vehicles such as cars or two-wheelers slide from behind under a larger truck or semi-trailer. The underride protection stops the vehicles before they literally come under the wheels, and in many cases prevents the most serious consequences of accidents. Mandatory since September 2021 - Kicherer had it long before, of course.

Freight space is becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. So we have to become strong in input and output loads and avoid empty runs. This allows us to drive more efficiently and cost-effectively. Kicherer is well equipped with its own fleet of vehicles and innovative logistical solutions. What we used to do with freight forwarders, we now also do ourselves in some cases in multi-day tours. The requirement profile for our professional drivers is therefore becoming more and more diverse. Depending on your needs, we now run one-day, multi-day and even week-long tours.

The job description

Professional drivers independently transport a wide variety of goods. In doing so, they not only master the perfect driving of their vehicles, but also take care of the inspection, maintenance and care of the vehicles. This requires extensive knowledge of vehicle technology and road traffic regulations.
Professional drivers accompany transport orders professionally from start to finish. This includes preparing the vehicle for transportation and planning the route, loading and unloading, accepting and securing the load and checking the documents to be carried.

The training

Over the entire duration of their training, professional driver trainees learn about various areas that are relevant to their future activities. This gives them a broad and well-founded basic training. The acquisition of a truck driving license is also an important part of their training.
Furthermore, our professional drivers take part in continuous further training measures and training courses in accordance with the BKrFQG - with us you will not only be trained as a professional driver, but also as a “road transport specialist”.

Training requirements:

• Minimum age: 17 years
• Requirements: Secondary school leaving certificate, ideally one-year vocational school for motor vehicles
• Duration of training: 3 years
